Quotestub guide
Quotestub adds a Request a quote button to your Wix store, lets you price each request, can send big quotes to an approver first, and takes your customer to your own checkout at the quoted prices. Questions: hello@greatwork.company.
Set up in five minutes
- Open Quotestub from your Wix dashboard.
- Quote details: check your business name, email (customers reply there), address, currency (use your store's currency) and how many days a quote stays valid. Add your terms.
- Button & form: choose the button text and whether it shows on every product or only the ones you list. Pick which questions to ask. Click Add to product pages and Add to the side cart.
- Approvals (optional): turn it on, set the limit and add approvers.
- Start your free trial. The button appears on your site once it begins.
You can do all of this, and write draft quotes, before the trial starts.
Adding or moving the button
The button goes under the product details on your product pages, and in the side cart. To add it yourself or place it somewhere else, open your editor, select the product page, choose Plugins, and add Quotestub.
Hiding prices
To hide prices on your store, use Wix's own setting: in the editor, select the product page, open Settings and clear Product price. Do the same on your category page and product galleries. In Quotestub, turn on Hide catalog prices so the quote form and your quotes show only the prices you quote.
Pricing a request
Requests arrive under New requests, priced at your catalog prices. Open one and:
- change a unit price, or take a percentage off a line;
- add a discount on the whole quote (percent or amount);
- add products with Add a product, or a free-text line with Add custom line (setup, freight, services);
- set the valid-until date and a message to the customer;
- keep an internal note for your team and approvers (customers never see it).
Totals follow your edits. They're computed from the unit prices your customer will pay at checkout, so the quote, the PDF and the checkout always match. Tax is added at checkout.
Shipping
By default your Wix shipping rules apply at checkout and quotes say "Shipping: at checkout". If you'd rather quote shipping, choose I quote shipping myself in Quote details: shipping becomes a line on the quote and Wix doesn't add its own at checkout. Ask for the address on your form when you do this.
Sending
Click Send quote. The customer gets an email with the PDF and a link to their quote page. If email isn't on for your site yet, copy the quote link from the quote and send it yourself. Sending a quote counts once toward Standard's 100 a month; sending a revised version again doesn't count again.
Changing a quote after you sent it makes a new revision. The customer's link says the quote is being updated until you send it again.
Approvals
With approvals on, a quote at or over your limit (total, or discount from list price) goes to your approvers instead of the customer. Each approver gets a private link (or you copy it from the quote) that shows the quote and your internal note. They approve or reject with an optional comment, no login needed. On Standard one approval is enough; on Pro you can require every approver. An approved quote goes to the customer right away. A rejected one comes back as a draft with the approver's comment. Changing a quote that's waiting for approval cancels the open links. Approval links work for 14 days.
What your customer sees
A quote page with your business details, the items, the prices, the total before tax, your terms and three choices: Accept and check out, Download PDF, and Decline (with an optional reason). Accept opens your own Wix checkout with the quoted items and prices; coupons are locked unless you allow them in Quote details. When they pay, the quote is marked Ordered and the Wix order gets a note with the quote number.
Statuses
New request, Draft, Waiting for approval, Sent, Accepted (went to checkout, not paid yet), Ordered, Declined, Expired, Cancelled. Quotes expire the day after their valid-until date. With reminders on, the customer gets one email a few days before.
Export and your data
Export CSV on the quotes list downloads the quotes you're looking at. Download your data at the bottom downloads everything Quotestub holds for your site. Deleting a quote removes it and its history.
Plans
Standard $29 a month ($24 billed yearly): button and form, PDF quotes, online accept and checkout, approvals with up to 2 approvers, 100 quotes sent a month. Pro $59 a month ($49 billed yearly): unlimited quotes, up to 10 approvers with "every approver", 25 custom questions. 14-day free trial through Wix. Without a plan the button is hidden and quotes can't be sent; your setup and drafts stay.
