Great Work Publisher privacy policy
Great Work Publisher is an internal tool that Great Work LLC uses to publish its own videos to its own YouTube channels. This policy explains what the tool does with data it gets from YouTube.
YouTube API Services
Great Work Publisher uses YouTube API Services. It runs under the Google Cloud project slidemill-fleet.
By using this tool you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.
Google’s handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Who uses the tool
Only Great Work LLC staff use Great Work Publisher. It is not offered to the public, has no public sign-in, and is only ever connected to YouTube channels that Great Work LLC owns.
What YouTube data the tool accesses
The tool only works with Great Work’s own channels. With our permission it:
- Reads our own channel’s ID, title and status, so we can confirm which channel a sign-in belongs to.
- Uploads our own videos with their titles, descriptions, tags and scheduling settings.
- Sets custom thumbnails and uploads captions for our own videos.
- Updates our own channel branding, such as the banner, description and keywords.
- Adds our own videos to our own playlists and may post comments on our own videos.
The tool does not read, collect or store any data about other YouTube users, viewers, subscribers or commenters.
What we store
When a Great Work staff member signs in with Google to connect one of our channels, the tool stores an OAuth refresh token for that channel. The token is saved as a local file on a Great Work computer, readable only by its owner (file mode 600). Tokens are never uploaded to a server, shared with anyone, or sold.
We do not store any personal information about YouTube users. The only YouTube data kept is the identifier and title of our own channels and the IDs of videos we uploaded.
Cookies and tracking
Great Work Publisher is a command-line tool. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind.
Retention and deletion
We keep a channel’s refresh token only while we use the tool to publish to that channel. The token is deleted when access is revoked, when we stop publishing to that channel, or when you ask us to delete it.
To request deletion of any data related to the tool, email hello@greatwork.company. We delete the requested data within 7 days and confirm by email.
How to revoke access
You can revoke Great Work Publisher’s access to a Google account at any time from the Google security settings page: security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. Find “Great Work Publisher” in the list and remove its access. Once access is revoked the stored token stops working and we delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
