Zonewell setup guide

1. Install and open

Install Zonewell from your CRM's app marketplace and approve the permissions. Open Zonewell from the left menu of the business account. Contacts start appearing within a minute; large lists finish in the background while you work.

2. Draw your first service area

  • Radius: click Radius, type an address in the search box (or click the map) for the center, set the miles, name it and click Save area.
  • Shape: click Shape, click the corners of your territory on the map, name it and click Save area.

Click an area's name to see how many contacts are inside, download them as CSV, or add a tag to all of them. Only account admins can add, change or tag; everyone can view.

Your starting point for distances is the business account's address. Change it under Settings.

3. Use the workflow actions

Add any of these from the workflow builder's action list (search "Zonewell").

Check service area

  • Inputs: Area name (optional; empty checks all areas), Address (optional; empty uses the contact's address), Tag if inside, Tag if outside, Save to contact fields (yes/no).
  • Outputs: status, in_area (true/false), in_area_text (yes/no), area_name, all_area_names, nearest_area, miles_to_nearest_area, latitude, longitude, formatted_address.
  • Typical use: after a lead form, add an If/Else on in_area_text is yes to book the job, otherwise send a friendly out-of-area message.

Distance to contact

  • Inputs: Mode (straight line or driving), Max miles (optional), Origin address (optional; empty uses your starting point), Address (optional).
  • Outputs: status, miles, kilometers, drive_minutes (driving only), within_limit (yes/no), mode, origin.
  • Driving distance uses 2 address lookups.

Map this contact

  • Inputs: Address (optional), Save to contact fields (default yes).
  • Outputs: status, latitude, longitude, formatted_address.

Statuses

ok, no_address (the contact has no usable address), no_match (the address could not be found), no_lookups_left (monthly lookups used up), no_areas / area_not_found, no_origin, no_route, no_contact, error (temporary; the step can be retried). Branch on anything other than ok so leads never get stuck.

4. Contact fields

Zonewell adds four contact fields: Zonewell Latitude, Zonewell Longitude, Zonewell Service Area and Zonewell Miles to Area. They fill in only when an action is set to save results. Use them in filters, smart lists and reports.

5. Lookups and billing

Each plan includes 5,000 address lookups per month. A lookup happens once per new or changed address; moving pins around or reopening the map is free. Contacts with no match are not counted. Past the allowance, lookups cost $2 per 1,000 from your CRM wallet when it has funds; otherwise mapping pauses until the 1st.

6. Disconnect

Settings > Disconnect removes Zonewell from this business account and deletes the names, addresses, coordinates, areas and settings we keep. Contacts in your CRM are not changed.
