Tickwell privacy policy

Tickwell: Timed Quizzes & Exams ("Tickwell") is an app for Wix sites made by Great Work LLC, 651 N Broad St Suite 206, Middletown, DE 19709, USA ("we"). This policy explains what Tickwell collects from site owners and from the people who take quizzes on their sites, what it keeps, and for how long. Questions: hello@greatwork.company.

Roles

For the people who take quizzes, the site owner decides what to ask and how long to keep results; we process that data for them to run Tickwell. Quiz takers with questions about their results should contact the site that ran the quiz. We answer site owners' requests about it, and help them answer their takers.

What Tickwell keeps for the site owner

Your site's install: the Wix app instance id, site name and address, your plan status, your time zone and how long results are kept.
Your quizzes: titles, instructions, questions, right answers, settings and the names you list for extra time.
Personal links: a random token per person on your extra-time list, with their extra minutes.
Usage: a count of quiz attempts per month (for your plan's limit).
Sessions: a random token that lets your dashboard page talk to our server, deleted after 12 hours.

What Tickwell keeps about quiz takers

Only when someone presses Start:

the name they type (or the name on their personal link);
their email address (quizzes open to anyone), or their Wix member id and login email (members-only quizzes);
the questions they were given, their answers, when they started and handed in, their time allowed, how often they left the page (if the owner turned that on), and their score;
a hash of their resume code (the code itself is shown only to them).

Nothing is kept about visitors who only look at a quiz. The widget sets no cookies and uses no browser storage. We don't keep IP addresses; they are used only in memory, for a few minutes, to slow down abuse. Wix access tokens are checked with Wix and never stored.

How it's used

Only to run Tickwell for the site: timing and grading attempts, showing results and certificates to the person who took the quiz, and showing results to the site owner. We don't sell, share or analyze this data, never use it to contact anyone, never add it to our own lists, and don't use it to train anything.

Where it's stored

On Great Work's server in New York, USA (DigitalOcean). Access is limited to Great Work staff for support and maintenance. Connections use HTTPS.

How long

Results (attempts) are deleted after the site's retention setting: 180 days by default, 7 to 365 days on Standard, up to 3 years on Pro. Deletion runs every hour.
The site owner can delete one person's attempts (Settings > "Delete one person's attempts"), a single attempt, or all results at any time.
When a plan ends, results stay readable for 30 days, then they are deleted. Quizzes stay.
When Tickwell is removed from a site, running attempts are handed in, and everything we keep about the site is deleted 30 days later (in case it's reinstalled).
Certificates are made when someone opens the link and are never stored.
Settings > "Download everything Tickwell stores" gives the site owner a copy at any time.

Your rights

Site owners can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of their data at hello@greatwork.company. We verify the request comes from the site owner and answer within 30 days (deletions within a week). If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Processors

Wix (the site, members, pricing plans, billing and the API Tickwell uses) and DigitalOcean (hosting). No others.

Changes
