Targwell for BaseLinker: setup and help
Targwell shows your customer's BaseLinker orders (Allegro, Amazon, eBay, Kaufland, shop and manual orders) next to their Zendesk ticket, in English, Polish or German, and lets the agents you choose add to the seller comments or change the order status, with every action logged on the ticket. $9 per agent per month after a 14-day trial.
What you need
- Zendesk Support (any plan that allows Marketplace apps) and admin access to install.
- A BaseLinker account and access to its API settings.
Get the API token
BaseLinker > Account & other > My account > API: create a token (or copy an existing one). The
token carries your BaseLinker account's access, so keep it in Zendesk only. Zendesk stores it as a
secure setting and inserts it into the X-BLToken header on the way to api.baselinker.com; agents
never see it.
Install
Follow the installation guide on the listing: paste the token, then choose who may act.
Several BaseLinker accounts and brands
- Account label: the name agents see (default: BaseLinker).
- Account brands: Zendesk brand ids whose tickets open this account first (Admin Center > Account > Brand management; the id is in the brand's address).
- Accounts 2 and 3: fill in the label to turn one on, then paste its token. Agents switch accounts in the sidebar.
How orders are matched
- Every email on the requester's Zendesk profile (up to five) is searched with BaseLinker's email search. Each order is read and kept only when its buyer email is exactly one of them.
- Order numbers written in the ticket subject or first message are read too: BaseLinker order numbers after "#", "order", "zamówienie", "nr" or "Bestellung", Amazon numbers (123-1234567-1234567), eBay numbers (12-12345-12345) and Allegro order ids.
- Marketplaces hide buyer emails behind relay addresses (allegromail.pl, marketplace.amazon., members.ebay.). An order the ticket names with such an email is shown when the buyer's full name or phone matches the requester, with a badge saying so.
- Anything else the ticket names is listed by number with a masked email, never shown. An agent can look it up on purpose.
The lookup box takes a BaseLinker order number, a marketplace order number, an email or a phone number.
Actions
| Action | Setting | Default | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Add to seller comments | Allow adding to seller comments | On | A line is appended to the order's seller (admin) comments; BaseLinker holds 200 characters in total |
| Change status | Allow status changes + Statuses agents may set | Off | The order moves to the chosen status; your BaseLinker automatic actions for that status run |
Each action is confirmed first, checked against a fresh read of the order (nothing is sent if
someone changed it meanwhile), sent once, read back, and logged as an internal note with a
targwell_comment or targwell_status tag. If BaseLinker's answer is lost, Targwell reads the order
again instead of sending twice.
Who may act: "admin" (default), "agent" (everyone), custom role ids, or "group:
The API limit
BaseLinker allows 100 API requests a minute, shared with every integration on your account. Targwell reads the status list and order sources once per sidebar, then one id list and one order read per email, plus one read per order number in the ticket; shipments load only when an agent opens an order. A refused call is reported, never retried.
Troubleshooting
| Message | Fix |
|---|---|
| BaseLinker did not accept the API token | Create a new token in BaseLinker and paste it into the settings |
| Limit of 100 requests a minute is used up | Wait a minute; BaseLinker's API log shows which integration used it |
| No orders for this requester | Their buyer email differs (marketplace relay); look the order up by number |
| Status change not offered | Turn on "Allow status changes" and list the statuses |
| Seller comments hold 200 characters | Shorten the line, or tidy the comments in BaseLinker |
Uninstall
Uninstalling removes the app and its settings, including the token. Targwell created nothing in
Zendesk; the targwell_* tags stay on past tickets.
