Milewell for Confluence: Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 1, 2026 Publisher: Great Work LLC, 651 N Broad St Suite 206, Middletown, DE 19709, USA Contact: hello@greatwork.company
This policy explains what information the Milewell app for Confluence Cloud (the "App") processes, where it is kept, and your rights. It covers only the App, not Atlassian's products, which are governed by Atlassian's own privacy policy.
1. Summary
- The App runs entirely on Atlassian's Forge platform ("Runs on Atlassian"). It has no servers of its own and sends no data to Great Work or to any third party.
- It stores the roadmaps your users create with its macro, and every saved version of them, in your site's Forge SQL database hosted by Atlassian.
- Imports (CSV) and exports (PNG, SVG, CSV) are processed in the user's browser.
- Great Work LLC cannot see your roadmaps, your pages, your Jira work items or who used the App.
2. What the App processes
| Data | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Roadmap contents (title, lanes, bars, milestones, dependencies, markers, dates, colors, progress, notes, links to Jira work item keys and page ids, view settings) | The App's purpose | Forge SQL for your site, compressed, one copy per saved version |
| Version records (version number, Atlassian account id of the person who saved, time, kind of save such as save, merge, restore, import or copy, an optional version name, a short note such as "Imported from Roadmap Planner", size and item count) | Version history and restore | Forge SQL for your site |
| Roadmap records (page or blog post id, space key, macro id, roadmap title, who created it and last saved it, when, item count) | To find the roadmap for a macro, list roadmaps per space and recover roadmaps whose page was deleted | Forge SQL for your site |
| A flag that the installation is a development install | So the PDF export works on development installs | Forge storage for your site |
| Unsaved edits in the browser | So edits survive a closed tab or a lost connection | The user's own browser storage on that device, removed once saved |
The App reads, as the signed-in user: whether that person can edit the page (before a save), which pages that person can see (linked pages, page copies, the space list), the page body only when that person chooses to import a Roadmap Planner macro from the same page, page titles for the page picker, whether they administer the space (to show recoverable roadmaps), and display names of people in the version history.
For bars linked to Jira work items, the App reads the work item's summary, status, type, start date and due date, and checks that the viewing person may browse it; details are shown only to people who can open the work item in Jira and are not stored. The App never changes Jira data.
It does not read comments or attachments, and it does not collect email addresses, IP addresses, passwords, API tokens, payment information or analytics. It sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts.
3. Where data is stored
All App data is stored by Atlassian in Forge SQL and Forge storage for your site, subject to Atlassian's data residency for Forge. Atlassian is the hosting provider and acts as a subprocessor under Atlassian's terms. Great Work LLC uses no other subprocessors.
4. Who can see what
- A roadmap is visible to the people who can see the page it is on, with its version history. Only people who can edit the page can edit, import into or restore the roadmap.
- Space settings > Milewell roadmaps lists roadmaps on pages the viewer can see. Space admins also see roadmaps whose page was deleted or is restricted from them, so plans can be recovered.
- When a page is copied, the copy starts with a copy of the roadmap only if the person opening it can see the original page.
- Great Work LLC: no access. If you open a support request, we see only what you send us.
- Atlassian: as the platform operator, under Atlassian's privacy policy.
5. Retention and deletion
Versions are kept so plans can always be restored. Every version from the last 30 days is kept; older versions are thinned to the last version of each hour (up to a year old) and then of each day. The first and current versions, named versions and the versions written by every restore, import and copy (and the version before each restore) are always kept. Removing the macro from a page does not delete the roadmap, so it can be recovered. Uninstalling the App removes its Forge storage according to Atlassian's Forge data deletion process. To delete a specific roadmap's data sooner, contact support from a site admin account.
6. Support requests
If you contact support through our help desk or by email, we process what you send (name, email, message, attachments) only to answer you, keep it up to 24 months, and delete it sooner on request.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example EU/UK GDPR or US state privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port personal data and to object to processing. For data in your Confluence site, your organization (the Atlassian customer) is the controller and Atlassian processes it on your behalf. For support data, Great Work LLC is the controller: email hello@greatwork.company. We respond within 30 days.
8. Security
The App uses only Atlassian-hosted compute and storage. Every save and restore checks, as the signed-in user, that the person can edit the page. The page a roadmap belongs to comes from the Forge context set by Atlassian, never from the browser. Jira details are filtered by the viewer's own browse permission. All text in pictures is escaped; CSV exports protect against formula injection. The App keeps no secrets of its own. Report vulnerabilities to hello@greatwork.company.
9. Children
The App is a business tool and is not directed to children under 16.
10. Changes
We will post changes here and update the effective date. Material changes will also be announced in the App's Marketplace release notes.
