Sandstub guide

Sandstub shows countdowns that count to real deadlines. Open it from your Wix dashboard (Apps > Sandstub).

Before your trial

You can create, design and preview every timer, set your store's time zone and holidays, and place widgets and plugins in the editor. Nothing shows on your published site until you start the 14-day free trial (the button at the top).

Timer types

  • Fixed date: counts to a date and time. Optional start. Count in your store's time zone, or each visitor's own (for "ends at midnight your time").
  • Daily or weekly deadline: counts to the next deadline on the days you pick, like "order by 2 PM to ship today". Optional opening time; before it, the "at zero" state shows. Use it only for deadlines that really repeat.
  • Per-visitor (evergreen): starts on each visitor's first view and runs for the minutes you set (5 minutes to 30 days). It's kept on our server, so reloading or clearing cookies doesn't restart it. When it ends, that visitor sees the "at zero" state for the cool-down (at least 7 days) before they could ever get a new one.
  • Sale ends: follows one of your Wix automatic discounts or coupons (Marketing in your Wix dashboard). The end date comes from Wix and moves when you change it there. A discount with no end date, switched off or deleted hides the timer.
  • Shipping cutoff: "Order within 2h 14m for delivery Friday". Set the days you ship, the cutoff, processing days and delivery days. Weekends and your holidays (Settings) are skipped. Runs on your store's time zone.

Placeholders

In a message: {time} the countdown, {date} the deadline, {day} the delivery day or range (shipping only), {stock} units left (product pages with the stock line on). If a placeholder has no value for a visitor, the timer hides instead of guessing.

Where timers show

  • Site-wide bar: added automatically. Top of the page or pinned to the bottom, on the pages you list (like /shop) and never on the ones you exclude. Visitors can close it for their visit.
  • Widget: in the editor, Add Elements > App Widgets > Sandstub timer; then Settings on it to choose the timer.
  • Product pages: in the editor, add the "Sandstub on product pages" plugin to a product page slot. On Automatic it shows every switched-on product timer that applies to that product (all products or the ones you pick).
  • Side cart: add the "Sandstub in the side cart" plugin. It shows timers set to every product.
  • Cart page: Wix has no plugin slot there; use a bar limited to your cart page path.

Stock line

On product pages, "Only {stock} left" shows when the product (or the chosen variant) has tracked stock at or below your threshold. The number comes from your Wix inventory; untracked stock or a product with several variants and none chosen shows nothing.

At zero

Hide the timer, show a message ("This offer has ended"), or send the visitor to another page (widgets and product pages only, never the page they're on).

Design

"Match my site's theme" uses your site's theme colors and fonts and follows them when you change your theme. Or pick a preset and your own background, text and accent colors. Layouts: boxes, one line, compact.

A/B tests (Pro and Scale)

Add a second message (Pro allows 3, Scale 4). Each visitor keeps seeing the same message. Results show views, clicks and add to cart per message, and call a message better or worse than A only with 200+ views each and a clear gap. Counts include only visitors who allowed analytics cookies.

Visitor checks

Per-visitor countdowns, A/B messages and stock lines ask our server once per page view (a visitor check). Your plan includes 25,000, 250,000 or 2,500,000 a month (Results shows the count). When they run out, those pause until the 1st; other timers keep working.

Privacy

Sandstub sets no cookies and stores nothing on visitors' devices. Details: the privacy policy.

Email hello@greatwork.company. A person answers within one business day. Works well with other Great Work apps for Wix like Whenwell (delivery slots) and Swathwell (bulk product editor).
