ReplacewellFind and replace for Google Docs with a preview of every change, Undo, formatting-aware replace, batch rules and regex in plain language

Replacewell is find and replace for Google Docs that shows you every change before it happens, and lets you take it back afterwards.

Type what to find and what to replace it with, then press Preview. Every match is listed in its sentence, with the old text in red and the new text in green. Untick the ones to leave alone, press Show to see one in the Doc, then Apply. Changed your mind next week? Open History and press Undo: the text and its formatting come back, and paragraphs someone edited since are left alone, so Undo never erases newer work.

What you get

• Preview every match in context before anything changes; untick the ones to leave alone
• Undo any run from the History tab, even after closing the Doc
• Replace many words at once: paste two columns from a Sheet, save rule sets and reuse them
• Find by formatting (only bold, only red, only linked) and apply formatting (bold, color, highlight, font, size, link)
• Regex with a plain-language explanation as you type, plus 15 ready-made patterns
• Finds what Docs' own search misses: curly vs straight quotes, non-breaking spaces and hyphens
• Whole document, one tab, or just the selected text, including headers, footers and footnotes
