Locatewell guide

Set up in five minutes

  • Open Locatewell from your site's dashboard (Apps > Locatewell). Five demo locations are there to show how it looks; delete them whenever you like.
  • Add locations: type them in (Locations > Add location), import a CSV (Import), or click Import Wix locations to copy what's in Settings > Business Info.
  • Style the map under Maps: miles or kilometers, distance choices, categories, colors, layout. Click Preview to see it.
  • In the Wix editor, click Add Elements > App Widgets > Locatewell, place the widget, click Settings and choose the map. Publish.
  • Start your 14-day free trial (Start free trial button). Until then the map stays hidden on your published site.

CSV files

The first row must be column names. We recognize name, address or street, city, state, zip or postal code, country, latitude, longitude, phone, email, website, category and hours, and you can change the matching before importing. Rows with latitude and longitude need no lookups. Add keeps your current locations; Replace removes your manual, CSV and demo locations first (locations copied from Business Info stay).

Coordinates and lookups

When a location has an address but no coordinates, Locatewell looks them up. Lookups cover the United States and Canada. If an address isn't found, edit it or type the latitude and longitude. Coordinates you type are never replaced. Each plan includes a monthly number of lookups, and visitor address searches use them too (repeat searches are cached and free).

Several maps

Each map is its own widget with its own categories and look, for example "Retail stores" and "Pickup points". Standard includes 3 maps; Pro has unlimited maps and pin colors by category.

Copied sites

If you duplicate your site, Locatewell copies your locations and maps to the new site. Open each Locatewell widget's Settings once on the copy and it switches to the copy's map.
