Hourmint for Jira: Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 1, 2026 Publisher: Great Work LLC, 651 N Broad St Suite 206, Middletown, DE 19709, USA Contact: hello@greatwork.company
This policy explains what information the Hourmint app for Jira Cloud (the "App") processes, where it is kept, and your rights. It covers only the App, not Atlassian's products, which are governed by Atlassian's own privacy policy.
1. Summary
- The App runs entirely on Atlassian's Forge platform ("Runs on Atlassian"). It has no servers of its own and sends no data to Great Work or to any third party.
- It reads the worklogs on the issues your billing users choose (by project or JQL), using that person's own Jira permissions, and stores the clients, rates, settings and invoices your team creates in your site's Forge storage.
- Invoice PDFs and CSV exports are created in the browser and saved to the user's device. The App does not email invoices or send them to any accounting system.
- Great Work LLC cannot see your clients, rates, invoices or worklogs.
2. What the App processes
| Data | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Company details your admins enter (name, address, email, phone, website, tax ID, payment details, footer) and an optional logo image | Printed on invoices | Forge app storage until changed or uninstall |
| Clients: name, billing address, email, tax ID, reference/PO, Jira projects or JQL, currency, rates, tax rate, payment terms, notes, accounting names and codes | To find each client's work and price it | Forge app storage until deleted (clients with invoices are archived, not deleted) |
| Rate rules, which may name a person (Atlassian account id and display name) | To bill that person's time at their rate | Forge app storage with the client |
| Invoices: number, status, dates, a copy of the company and client details at the time, lines, totals, notes, and for each billed worklog its id, date, author (account id and display name), issue key and summary, worklog comment, logged and billed minutes, rate and amount | To show, re-download and export invoices, and to prove the hours behind them | Forge app storage until a draft is deleted or the App is uninstalled; issued invoices are kept as your billing record |
| Worklog claims (worklog id and invoice id) | So the same worklog is never billed twice | Forge app storage while the invoice is issued or paid; released when it is voided |
| Worklogs, issue keys, summaries, types, labels and parents read while preparing an invoice | To build the draft | In the browser and in memory during the request; kept only if they end up on a saved invoice |
| Your account id, groups and admin permission | To decide whether you may use the App | In memory only |
The App does not read issue descriptions, comments (other than worklog comments) or attachments, and it does not collect IP addresses, passwords, API tokens, payment card details or analytics. It sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts or fonts.
3. Where data is stored
All App data is stored by Atlassian in Forge app storage for your Jira site, subject to Atlassian's data residency settings. Atlassian is the hosting provider and acts as a subprocessor under Atlassian's terms. Great Work LLC uses no other subprocessors.
4. Who can see what
- Jira admins, and members of the billing groups an admin chooses, can see clients, rates and invoices. Everyone else sees a message asking them to contact an admin.
- Worklogs are read with the signed-in user's own permissions, so worklog visibility restrictions and issue security in Jira apply.
- Great Work LLC: no access. If you open a support request, we see only what you send us.
- Atlassian: as the platform operator, under Atlassian's privacy policy.
5. Retention and deletion
Billing users can delete drafts and clients without invoices at any time; issued invoices are kept as an accounting record and can be voided. Uninstalling the App removes its Forge storage according to Atlassian's Forge data deletion process. PDFs and CSVs you downloaded are under your organization's control.
6. Support requests
If you contact support through our help desk or by email, we process what you send (name, email, message, attachments) only to answer you, keep it up to 24 months, and delete it sooner on request. Please do not send invoices or rates unless you need to.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example EU/UK GDPR or US state privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port personal data and to object to processing. For data in your Jira site, your organization (the Atlassian customer) is the controller and Atlassian processes it on your behalf. For support data, Great Work LLC is the controller: email hello@greatwork.company. We respond within 30 days.
8. Security
The App uses only Atlassian-hosted compute and storage, reads Jira as the signed-in person, limits access to admins and billing groups, validates every amount on the server, and keeps no secrets of its own. Report vulnerabilities to hello@greatwork.company.
9. Children
The App is a business tool and is not directed to children under 16.
10. Changes
We will post changes here and update the effective date. Material changes will also be announced in the App's Marketplace release notes.
