How Cellferry works
Cellferry keeps one tab of a Google Sheet and one Webflow CMS collection in sync. Each pairing is a sync. A site can have several (5 on Standard, 20 on Pro).
Set up
- Install Cellferry and approve your site. Open the site in the Designer, then Cellferry from the Apps panel.
- Connect Google. Cellferry asks only for access to spreadsheets you create with it or pick with Google's file picker.
- New sync. Choose a collection, then either Create a new spreadsheet for this collection (every field becomes a column) or Pick a spreadsheet from Google Drive and choose a tab.
- Columns and fields. Row 1 holds the column names. Cellferry pairs columns with fields that have the same name; change any pairing, or add a field as a new column. Cellferry adds two columns of its own if they're missing: Webflow ID (which item the row is; don't edit it) and Sync status (what happened to the row).
- How it syncs. Pick the direction, the conflict rule, the schedule and the other options below, then Save.
- Press Preview, read the list of changes, then Sync now.
What each cell holds
| Field type | In the sheet |
|---|---|
| Plain text, email, phone, link, video link, color | the text (links start with https://; colors like #1A2B3C) |
| Rich text | Markdown (default), HTML or plain text, chosen per column |
| Image, file | a public link; Webflow copies it to its CDN, and the cell then shows the CDN link after a sync from Webflow |
| Multi-image | links separated by new lines or commas |
| Number | a number; $ , and % are ignored |
| Switch, Archived, Draft | TRUE or FALSE (yes/no and 1/0 work too) |
| Date | 2026-10-02, 2026-10-02 14:30 or 10/2/2026 2:30 PM, in the spreadsheet's time zone |
| Option | the option's name |
| Reference | the referenced item's name or slug |
| Multi-reference | names or slugs separated by commas (or new lines when a name has a comma) |
Markdown supported: # headings, paragraphs (blank line between), line breaks, bold, italic, links, - and 1. lists, > quotes, and a line with just for an image. Code blocks go in as plain lines because Webflow's API doesn't accept them.
Directions and conflicts
- Both ways: each cell goes the way it changed. Cellferry remembers how both sides looked after the last sync (as hashes, not values), so it knows which side changed.
- Sheet to Webflow only: the sheet is the master. If an item was edited in Webflow, the sheet's value replaces it, and the replaced value is in the log and the undo snapshot.
- Webflow to sheet only: the reverse.
- Changed in both places (both ways only): by default Cellferry changes neither, writes "Conflict in ..." in the row's status, and lists it in Activity with Keep sheet and Keep Webflow buttons; your pick applies on the next sync. Or choose a rule: the sheet wins, or Webflow wins.
- Formula cells are read and sent to Webflow but never overwritten.
New, removed and deleted
- New rows become new items (turn off with "New rows in the sheet become new items"). If Slug is empty, Cellferry makes one from the name.
- New items in Webflow are added as rows at the bottom (turn off with "New items in Webflow are added to the sheet").
- On the first sync, rows without a Webflow ID are linked to existing items with the same slug (or the field you choose) instead of creating duplicates.
- A synced row removed from the sheet: keep the item (default), archive it, or delete it. If more than 5 rows and a fifth of the synced rows disappear at once, Cellferry does nothing and asks you to confirm.
- An item deleted in Webflow: its row is marked in Sync status, or removed if you choose.
Publishing
New items are created as staged (not drafts) unless a Draft column says otherwise. After a sync that changed items, Cellferry can publish just those items, or the whole site. Webflow allows one site publish a minute; if a sync comes sooner, the log says so and the changes go live with the next publish.
Schedules and limits
- Sync now, Preview, or a schedule: every 15 or 30 minutes, every hour, 3, 6 or 12 hours, or daily (also every 5 or 10 minutes on Pro). Optionally also about a minute after items change in Webflow.
- One sync runs at a time per site. Cellferry paces its requests under Webflow's limits (60 or 120 a minute, depending on the site plan) and Google's.
- A record is one item linked to a row. Standard allows 2,000 per site, Pro 10,000. Rows past the limit get a status message instead of being created.
Preview, log and undo
- Preview reads both sides and lists every change a sync would make. It writes nothing and costs nothing.
- Activity keeps 30 days of syncs, previews and undos, with each row's result.
- Undo last sync puts back what the last sync changed: Webflow field values, archived and draft states, items it created (deleted again) or deleted (created again with new IDs), cells it wrote, rows it added or removed. Anything edited after the sync is left alone and listed. The snapshot is kept until the next sync, up to 30 days.
Plans
Standard $49/month or $490/year per site, Pro $129/month or $1,290/year per site, Workspace $299/month or $2,990/year for every site in a workspace. 14-day trial per site with 1,000 synced changes, starting with your first real sync. When the trial ends, syncing pauses and nothing changes in your sheet or CMS. There is no free plan. Billing is in the Plan tab (Stripe, in a new tab).
Remove
Settings > Remove Cellferry from this site deletes our webhooks, revokes Google, deletes your syncs, hashes, log and snapshots, and disconnects. Your sheets and CMS stay as they are. Support: hello@greatwork.company.
