Tabrail Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 1, 2026

This policy covers Tabrail: Tab Macro Migration to Native Tabs (the "App"), a Forge app published on the Atlassian Marketplace by Great Work LLC ("Great Work", "we", "us"), 651 N Broad St Suite 206, Middletown, DE 19709, USA. Contact: hello@greatwork.company.

Summary

The App runs entirely on Atlassian's Forge platform. When you ask it to, it rewrites legacy tab macros inside your Confluence pages into Confluence's own Tabs element or collapsible sections. Great Work does not run servers for the App, does not receive your content, and does not sell or share personal data.

What the App stores

  • On each page it converts, a Confluence content property named tabrail with up to 10 entries: when the conversion ran, the page version before and after, how many tab groups were converted, whether it was a person or auto-convert, and whether it was undone. No names, account IDs or page text.
  • In Forge Key-Value Store for your site: the site settings (conversion options, macro names to look for, whether auto-convert is on and for which space keys); the native Tabs format the App learned from a page on your site (the structure of the Tabs element's settings, including the two sample tab titles "Tabrail A" and "Tabrail B"); and an activity log of the last 200 conversions (time, page id, page title, action, number of tab groups). Page titles are stored so admins can recognize pages in the log. During the free trial, the ids of the pages converted so far (for the 10-page trial limit).

What the App reads and changes

  • When a user opens the "Convert tab macros" dialog, the App reads that page's content as that user to list the tab groups on it.
  • When a user clicks Convert (on a page or in an admin bulk run), the App saves the page as that user, as a normal page version. Undo reads the earlier page version as that user and saves it as a new version.
  • Admin searches use Confluence search as the admin, so only pages that admin can see are listed.
  • When auto-convert is on, the App reads and, if every tab group converts cleanly, saves the page as the App each time a page is created or edited.

Page content read by the App is used in the moment and not stored by Great Work.

What leaves Atlassian

Nothing. The App has no external network permissions and no remote backend. Great Work cannot see your pages or users. Atlassian provides the hosting and processes data under its own terms (https://www.atlassian.com/legal/privacy-policy) as the platform provider.

Logs

Forge keeps function logs that Great Work can read for troubleshooting. The App logs only error messages and page ids, never page content, and never logs tokens. Atlassian controls log retention.

Retention and deletion

Page records live on the page and are deleted with it. Settings, the learned format and the activity log stay while the App is installed; an admin can clear the learned format with "Forget". When the App is uninstalled, Atlassian deletes the App's Forge storage for that site according to the Forge platform's data deletion process. Converted pages stay converted: the result is ordinary Confluence content.

Data residency

Forge storage follows your Confluence site's data residency location where Atlassian supports it for Forge apps.

Your rights

Because Great Work does not receive or hold your data, requests to access, correct or delete personal data should go to your Confluence site admin. We will help: email hello@greatwork.company.

Children

The App is a business tool and is not directed at children under 16.

Changes

We will post changes on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will be announced in the App's release notes at least 30 days before they apply.
