Shelfback for Confluence: Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 1, 2026 Publisher: Great Work LLC, 651 N Broad St Suite 206, Middletown, DE 19709, USA Contact: hello@greatwork.company
This policy explains what information the Shelfback app for Confluence Cloud (the "App") processes, where it is kept, and the choices people have. It covers only the App, not Atlassian's products, which are governed by Atlassian's own privacy policy.
1. Summary
- The App runs entirely on Atlassian's Forge platform ("Runs on Atlassian"). It has no servers of its own and sends no data to Great Work or to any third party, including analytics or AI services.
- It stores review dates, review history and archive run logs in Forge storage for your site.
- Great Work LLC cannot see your pages, your review data or your run logs.
2. What the App processes
| Data | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Per page with a review date: page id, title, space key, owner's account id and whether that account is active, review interval and due date, last review time and reviewer's account id, the due date a reminder was sent for | Review dates, the byline label, review queues, "My reviews", reminders | Forge SQL for your site, until the review date is removed, the page is gone, or the App is uninstalled |
| Review history: page id, time, account id of the person, what happened (reviewed, date set, date removed, reminder sent), the optional note they typed | The history in the Review dialog | Forge SQL, until uninstall |
| Archive run logs: run id, space, who started it and when, and per page: page id, title, original parent, the sibling it sat before, result and a short reason | Restoring every page to its exact original place, and the run log you can export | Forge SQL, until uninstall |
| Settings: archive method and location, labels, reminder and review defaults, who may archive | Configuration | Forge SQL, until changed or uninstall |
| Page content | Read only to add the "Archived" note at the top of an archived page and to take it off again on restore | Not stored by the App (the note itself is part of your page) |
| Owner names, view counts, labels, page lists for reports | Shown on screen and in CSV exports | Read from Confluence when a report is opened, as the person opening it; not stored |
The App does not collect email addresses, IP addresses, browser or device data, passwords, API tokens or payment information. It sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts.
3. Changes the App makes in Confluence
Only when someone asks for it (an archive or restore run, a review date, or the daily reminder when a review is due): moving pages into and out of an archive folder or archive space, archiving pages with Confluence's archive, adding and removing a label and an "Archived" note, and posting a reminder comment that mentions the page owner. The App never deletes pages.
4. Where data is stored
All App data is stored by Atlassian in Forge storage for your site, subject to Atlassian's data residency settings. Atlassian is the hosting provider and acts as a subprocessor under Atlassian's terms. Great Work LLC uses no other subprocessors.
5. Who can see what
- A page's review date, owner and history: people who can see that page.
- Review queues and stale page reports: people who can see the space, and only pages they can see.
- Archive runs: that space's admins, Confluence admins and the person who started the run.
- Settings: Confluence admins only.
- Great Work LLC: no access. If you open a support request, we see only what you send us.
- Atlassian: as the platform operator, under Atlassian's privacy policy.
6. Your choices
- Anyone who can edit a page can remove its review date.
- Confluence admins can turn reminders off and change every setting.
- Requests about personal data held by the App go to your Confluence admins, who control it. Great Work LLC will help them on request at hello@greatwork.company.
7. Retention and deletion
Uninstalling the App removes its Forge storage according to Atlassian's Forge data deletion process. Pages you archived stay where they are (in the archive folder or space, or in Confluence's archive); restore them before uninstalling if you want the App to put them back.
8. Security
Data is protected by Atlassian's Forge platform (encryption in transit and at rest, tenant isolation). Every report and action checks permissions on the server and reads Confluence as the person asking. See our security self-assessment on request.
9. Changes
We will post changes to this policy on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will be noted in the App's release notes.
