Pollmark Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 1, 2026
This policy covers Pollmark: Polls, Votes and Surveys for Confluence (the "App"), a Forge app published on the Atlassian Marketplace by Great Work LLC ("Great Work", "we", "us"), 651 N Broad St Suite 206, Middletown, DE 19709, USA. Contact: hello@greatwork.company.
Summary
The App runs entirely on Atlassian's Forge platform. Everything it stores stays in Atlassian-hosted Forge storage for your Confluence site. Great Work does not run servers for the App, does not receive your content or votes, and does not sell or share personal data.
What the App stores
Inside Forge SQL storage for your site:
- For each poll: the page or blog post id, its space key, the macro's id on the page, a copy of the poll's settings (question, options, choice type, results rule, closing date), whether it is anonymous, a random per-poll value used to make anonymous voter codes, any manual close or reopen and the Atlassian account ID of the editor who did it, and timestamps.
- For each vote in a named poll: the voter's Atlassian account ID, the options they picked, and when.
- For each vote in an anonymous poll: a one-way code derived from the voter's account ID and the poll's random value, the options picked, and when. The account ID itself is not stored. The code only lets the App recognize the same person voting again in that poll.
The App does not store names, email addresses or page content.
What the App reads from Confluence
As the signed-in user, the App asks Confluence: whether that user may edit the page (to allow closing, reopening, resetting and exporting a poll); which pages with polls the user can see (for the rollup macro); display names of voters (only when a page editor exports a named poll to CSV); and, on the space settings page, which pages contain polls from the Data Center Survey and Vote Macros app and their content. These responses are used in the moment and not stored.
When a page or blog post that has polls is updated, and once a day for polls already marked as removed, the App reads that page's body as the App (there is no signed-in user for these events), only to check which of its poll macros are still on the page. Nothing from the page is stored.
Converting Data Center polls
When a user clicks Convert on the Pollmark space settings page, the App edits that page as that user, replacing each Data Center vote macro with a Pollmark poll. This is a normal page version under your site's permissions and can be reverted in page history.
CSV exports
Page editors can export a poll's results. For named polls the export includes voters' display names and account IDs. The CSV is shown in the user's browser for them to copy; the App does not send it anywhere.
What leaves Atlassian
Nothing. The App has no external network permissions and no remote backend. Great Work cannot see your polls, votes or users. Atlassian provides the hosting and processes data under its own terms (https://www.atlassian.com/legal/privacy-policy) as the platform provider.
Logs
Forge keeps function logs that Great Work can read for troubleshooting. The App logs only error messages, not poll content, votes or account IDs, and never logs tokens. Atlassian controls log retention.
Who can see what
Anyone who can view a page can vote in its polls and see results when the poll's settings allow. Page editors can always see results of polls on pages they can edit, see who voted in named polls, close, reopen and reset them, and export them. Other readers see voter names only in named polls whose editor turned on showing names to everyone. Nobody can see who voted for what in an anonymous poll. Great Work staff have no access to your site unless you invite us for support.
Retention and deletion
Data stays while the App is installed. Voters can remove their own vote while a poll is open (if the poll allows changes). Page editors can delete all votes on a poll with Reset. When a poll's macro has been removed from its page for 7 days, the App deletes that poll and its votes. When the App is uninstalled, Atlassian deletes the App's Forge storage for that site according to the Forge platform's data deletion process.
Data residency
Forge storage follows your Confluence site's data residency location where Atlassian supports it for Forge apps.
Your rights
Because Great Work does not receive or hold your data, requests to access, correct or delete personal data should go to your Confluence site admin. We will help: email hello@greatwork.company.
Children
The App is a business tool and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
We will post changes on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will be announced in the App's release notes at least 30 days before they apply.
