AudioKick

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 21, 2026

AudioKick is a Mac app made by Great Work LLC ("we"). The short version: it works entirely on your Mac, has no account and no analytics, and only sends anything to us if you choose to sign up for email updates.

What stays on your Mac

Your settings, your restart count and the time of your last restart are stored in AudioKick's preferences on your Mac. AudioKick reads the names and sample rates of your audio devices to show them in its menu. None of this is sent anywhere.

Administrator access

Restarting Core Audio requires administrator rights. AudioKick asks macOS for them through the standard password prompt and never sees or stores your password. If you choose password-free restart, AudioKick adds one rule to /etc/sudoers.d/audiokick that allows only /usr/bin/killall coreaudiod. Choose Require Password to Restart in the menu to remove it.

Music and Spotify

If you allow it, AudioKick uses Apple Events to ask Music and Spotify whether they're playing, and to pause and resume them after a restart. It doesn't read your library or listening history.

Email updates (optional)

If you enter your email in Get Email Updates, in the first-launch window or on this website, we store it with the time and where you signed up, and send a confirmation email through our email provider, Resend. You're only added after you click the confirmation link. We use it to send Great Work updates, about once a month, and never sell or share it. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or email hello@greatwork.company and we'll delete it.

Downloads

Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page) for security and to count downloads. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies on this site.

Children

AudioKick is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes and contact
